Summer of Self Care Videos

From the NAMI National Office:

Dear NAMI Supporter,

Summer has officially arrived. It’s supposed to be fun and relaxing. But it can also be stressful.

How you take care of yourself — and your mental health — matters. That’s why NAMI has launched our NEW Summer of Self-Care video album and why we’re asking you to upload a short video of you doing your favorite summer self-care activity.

If you haven’t uploaded yours yet, it’s not too late to add your video to the album. We can’t wait to see how you wind down from a hot day and ease into a summer weekend.

Do you lean back into an Adirondack chair with a cool lemonade? Visit a state or national park near you? Spend time in the garden or get a pedicure? Dance in front of the A/C when no one is watching? Share your ideas with our community!

Of course, self-care isn’t the answer to every mental health challenge. But for many of us, it really helps. So, whether you choose to do an activity by yourself or with a group, you are part of NAMI’s community — one that looks out for one another through our lived experiences.

Thank you for being a part of the NAMI family. Our community is a healthier, more hopeful, and healing place because of people like you.

Please share your Summer of Self-Care video now. I’ll let you know when the site goes live so you can look for your video!

Because mental health matters,

Summer Parrish
