Great Videos for PTSD Awareness Month

June is PTSD Awareness Month. The National Center for PTSD notes that people with PTSD often live with four types of symptoms: re-experiencing, feeling worse about yourself or the world, hyperarousal, and avoidance. They offer a series of animated videos that outline these categories, define PTSD, and have detailed information about a variety of common treatment options.

Each video is about four minutes long. The first two are available in the buttons below. The full series can be viewed here: https://www.ptsd.va.gov/appvid/video/index.asp. While the U.S. Department of Veterans’ Affairs hosts this site, the opening of the first video recognizes that PTSD symptoms can be rooted in a wide range of trauma situations.
